Joseph DeVore's Blog: SmarterMail

Ok, so recently I've decided to build a new web hosting control panel using Flex, ColdFusion and MySQL. Since the web hosting company that I own and operate with a few amigos uses SmarterMail for our primary Windows based mail servers, we've decided to start writing some code to connect to the myriad of web services that they provide (right out of the box) that allow us to connect to and interact with their software in real-time.

I've got to give it up to Smarter Tools for doing such a great job and honestly for really just having their ish together. They've got great ideas, great products and brilliant marketing. Seriously, if they didn't decide to offer a free copy of their software with the purchase of a dedicated server at an old hosting company that I was with, we would probably still be using something that we weren't happy with and would be stuck hating the mail hosting business and complaining about the software's weaknesses - daily.

Since I'll be writing a ton of new Adobe ColdFusion Components to connect to the SmarterMail web services, I imagine that I'll be posting about the experience and quite possibly some of the code snippets for later reference.
